CAREER IN COMPUTER ENGINEERING
Computer and information technology continues to undergo rapid change
and improvement in performance and cost reduction. The growth in power
and performance of computer hardware has made possible and feasible more
complex and capable software. The new developments include artificial
intelligence, expert systems, executive information systems and decision
support systems. Future applications are likely to include sophisticated
voice and handwriting recognition and processing.
According to NASSCOM (National Association for Software Service Companies) report, the major software companies still prefer candidates holding BE/BTech and ME/MTech degrees. The main reason is that the formal schools expose students to basics of computing technologies.
